Pavilion Roof Fundraiser Goal Met!
June 29, 2010
To All Friends of the Rink:
Thanks to you and the recent $1,000 pledge campaign, we will be
constructing a Pavilion-style roof this summer!
This roof will protect the
rink from rain, snow and sun, greatly improve the ice conditions,
reduce operating expenses, and shelter the spectators around the
boards. Construction of the roof will begin next week and be completed
in time to begin the skating season on October 30th.
Although the recent pledge campaign put us
over the top, AIA is continuing to raise funds, not only for this
"roof" phase, but for the remainder of the Project improvements. Locker
rooms, a warming lodge and a concrete pad remain in the planning
stages. And it is critical that all pledges be honored as soon as
posible to keep the project on schedule this summer.
So a hardy THANK YOU to all our pledge supporters, and thanks to the
many volunteers for their work on this campaign. Thanks also to the
volunteers who have been helping prepare the property for summer
construction, and special thanks to Mollenberg-Betz for volunteering
their rink engineering specialists to take apart the ice-making system.
Another Successful Season Ends
March 12, 2010
Our 2009 - 2010 winter season ended last weekend, and the rink is now being mothballed until the fall.
Please visit the

information and reserving ice for next fall.
New Outdoor Pavilion Rink Approved
February 11, 2010
At the March 16th 2009 East Aurora Village Board meeting, the Trustees
unanimously approved the AIA Development Plan for a permanent outdoor
pavilion style rink with buildings for services. The temporary Classic
Rink used for this past season proved to be a very popular winter
attraction in the Village, hosting public skating sessions with over
15,000 admissions, hockey tournaments, games and practices, and
learn-to-skate events. The rink's activities over the season met with
the overwhelming approval of the public and the local merchants,
helping to pave the way for the Village's approval of a permanent
facility.
Construction can begin in summer 2010, if funding is secured.
