The vision is to create a permanent "community" oriented ice sports facility to serve the diverse recreational needs of the Southtowns. An outdoor "Pavilion-Style" facility is planned,
one that can be used for ice sports during the colder months, as well as off-ice training programs and community events for fundraising during the warmer months.
Located in the center of East Aurora's business disctrict on Riley Street, the rink is easily accessible to all Southtown communities. It will be a gathering place and a vibrant hub of activity for our Village.
A temporary outdoor single rink, the "TimeWarner Cable Winter Classic" rink, was installed in the fall of 2008, and hosted many enjoyable public skating and hockey events over the past two winters. The rink is now closed for the 2010 summer season, but will reopen in the fall.
