The East Aurora Police Benevolent Association and the Aurora Ice Association are once again co-hosting the D.A.R.E. Golf Tournament on September 11, 2006. The tournament will take place at Chestnut Hill Country Club in Darien, NY with a tee-off time of 11:00 a.m.
Monies raised from this fundraiser will be used to support the Drug Abuse Resistance Education program in our schools and assist the Aurora Ice Association in bringing ice sports to our community.
Although the Aurora Ice Association has remained publicly quiet over the last year, the AIA Board of Directors have been working behind the scenes seeking and applying for grant applications and soliciting potential naming rights sponsors. In addition, the civil engineers and architect have developed preliminary site plans and building floor plans that have been reviewed by the AIA board and meet the functional needs of the twin-sheet facility. The AIA Board of Directors have been meeting weekly and continue to work hard in securing funds to make this project a reality.
Many of you have asked us what you can do to help. Providing your support to the D.A.R.E. / A.I.A. golf tournament is an excellent way to help. Whether you put a foursome or twosome together to play or sponsor a hole, your donation can help us out. Prizes are also needed for the event, so if you or your company has an item or gift certificate that can be donated, we appreciate that as well.

We are proud to join forces with the Police Benevolent Association to raise funds for programs benefiting the children of our community. We hope you can put aside Monday, September 11th to help us raise funds for the D.A.R.E. program and assist our efforts to bring an ice facility to our community.
