PAVILION PROJECT FUNDRAISER!

To All Friends of the Classic Rink:

The momentum is building… and with your support,
we will be constructing a Pavilion-style roof this summer
which will protect the rink from rain, snow and sun
so we can extend the skating season and operate more efficiently.

We are in the final phase of our fundraising campaign to purchase materials
and begin roof construction. We have made great progress in the past few months,
but still remain $276,000 short of our million dollar goal.

The Vision
On January 1, 2008, history was made in Buffalo, NY. Ralph Wilson Stadium hosted the first ever outdoor NHL game in the United States. The NHL “Winter Classic” matched the Buffalo Sabres against the Pittsburgh Penguins before a record-setting crowd of 71,217.

The Aurora Ice Association (AIA) has purchased the ice making equipment from the NHL Winter Classic and will create a tribute rink to this historic event in the center of the Village of East Aurora. All of Western New York will have the opportunity to skate, play, and share in this historic venue.
